Position Overview

The Bilingual Korean Academic Advisor at Novel Prep plays a vital role in supporting student achievement while fostering strong partnerships with families. This position combines academic counseling, student success planning, and relationship-based enrollment support. The Advisor works closely with Korean-speaking families to deliver culturally responsive guidance, develop individualized academic strategies, and contribute to student retention and program growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Student & Family Advising

Provide comprehensive academic counseling to students and parents, helping them navigate educational planning, skill development, and college preparation.
  • Conduct initial consultations to assess academic history, strengths, and goals
  • Design customized learning plans and course pathways
  • Guide families through short- and long-term academic decision-making
  • Support students in building effective study habits and educational confidence
2. Academic Monitoring & Student Success

Ensure students remain on track toward their objectives through ongoing evaluation and proactive support.
  • Review academic progress and performance metrics regularly
  • Identify obstacles to learning and recommend appropriate interventions
  • Partner with instructors and staff to coordinate academic resources
  • Adjust plans as needed to optimize student outcomes
3. Enrollment Support & Retention

Contribute to organizational growth by delivering a high level of service to both prospective and current families.
  • Lead consultations for new families to introduce programs and services
  • Support enrollment conversations and program matching
  • Manage renewals and maintain strong retention rates
  • Suggest enrichment opportunities and additional services aligned with student needs
  • Build lasting relationships that encourage referrals and continued engagement
4. Communication & Record Management

Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication to ensure families stay informed and supported.
  • Provide regular updates on student progress
  • Document advising interactions and maintain organized records
  • Prepare reports and follow-up summaries
  • Address questions and concerns promptly and professionally
5. Professional Development & Compliance

Uphold high professional standards while continuing to strengthen advising expertise.
  • Stay current on academic trends, college admissions processes, and counseling best practices
  • Participate in training and professional development initiatives
  • Follow company policies regarding confidentiality, ethics, and professionalism
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Business, or a related discipline
  • Fluency in Korean and English (verbal and written)
  • 1–2 years of experience in academic advising, student services, counseling, education consulting, or consultative sales
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse students and families
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up abilities
Compensation: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
